Service Description

Get your digital SLR camera off auto and learn manual mode to unleash your camera's potential! I intentionally designed this 2-hr workshop to be small and intimate so I can give you the individual attention you need. Space is limited (6 in-person and 10 virtual students) so sign up now. What you can expect from the workshop: The first half of the workshop includes an in-class presentation on the basics of shooting in manual--setting ISO, aperture, shutter speed, white balance, and how these settings affect one another. We will talk about how to control exposure, focus, and lighting to get SHARP, powerful imagery. Lastly, we will touch on the various lenses in the market and their uses. A handy cheat sheet handout (hard and soft copy) will be provided to each participant to easily reference as you practice. The second half of the workshop is for in-person participants who will apply what they learned in the classroom and practice during the 1 hour hands-on segment. A model will be available for you to practice on in an indoor and outdoor setting, and I will be coaching you along the way, so you can feel more comfortable and confident. Remember that practice makes perfect - knowing the fundamentals isn't enough in photography - you have to practice, practice, practice! * Must own a digital SLR camera for this workshop. I use a Nikon exclusively, but all professional cameras operate on the same principles, so Canon and Sony shooters are welcome. The cost includes only 1 participant, no exceptions.
